  • Anna ANDRIOTAKIS-HARITOS - Member of the Organizing Committee
    "Anna Andriotakis - Haritos (aka Anna Charitou) was born in Piraeus (on 1945) yet grew up in Rhodes, where she married and has lived to this day.

    She graduated the Superior School of Agronomists of the City of Athens, with "Magna cum Laudae".

    She run a career of 27 years as officer at the Ministry for Agriculture - of which 16 years in Agricultural Research field where she held the position of "researcher" and the rest at the Administration at the Department of Agriculture in Rhodes.

    She has published, 10 research papers in scientific magazines in Greece, France, Bulgaria and the USA.

    On 2006, she published her research study on the biological circle of the butterfly of Rhodes, Panaxia quadripunctaria Poda.

    Anna Andriotakis - Haritos has had post-graduate training on European Policy issues as well as on IT, on issues afferent to gender equality and the status of women in Public Administration.

    She is acquainted with three languages, namely English, French and Italian; She is founding member of the House of Europe in Rhodes and the second president elected (since September 2005). "


  • Lambrini BASDEKI - Member of the Board
    "My name is Lamprini Basdeki and I feel honored and privileged to welcome you to the 2nd edition of Rhodes Model Regional Cooperation. It is also my pleasure to be chosen as the Vice-President of the Council of Europe simulation of this wonderful conference, that I had the chance to attend myself during the first edition. I have just graduated from the University of Macedonia, from the department of International and European Studies and I am 22 years old. I believe that I have a very good experience in such conferences, since I have already attended more than 12 simulations, either as a chairperson or as a delegate, in many areas around the world (eg United Kingdom, Netherlands, France, Turkey, Romania, Sweden, Greece and many others) and I am more than convinced that along with the honorable President and the Secretary General of this Council, we will be able to assist you in everything you might need. Rhodes MRC 2011 is to my point of view a fascinating experience that gives you the opportunity to meet new people, to familiarise yourself with public speech and to represent a country that is different from the country of origin. Please, do not hesitate to contact me, or the rest of the Board of the Council of Europe for any possible inquiries on the topics. My only promise to you is that Rhodes MRC 2011 will be unforgettable to all the participants. For that reason, I suggest you grabbed the opportunity immediately!"


  • Emmanouil BATISTAKIS - Member of the Board
    "Studies at the University of Macedonia. He is in his 4th year of studies in the faculty of International and European Studies. During those 4 years of his academic life, he has gain much experience in simulation conferences, participating in many Model United Nations in Greece, Romania, Croatia etc. Also, he has participated as a delegate, and awarded, in the last edition of Rhodes MRC as the delegate of Turkey in BSEC. His chairing experience is counted in a place of a chair in Human Rights Council in BISMUN 2011, as the vice-president of ITRE in EURO.PA.S., as the co-chair in Human Rights Council in ThessIS MUN 2011 and now as a Deputy Secretary General responsible for the BSEC in this year's edition of Rhodes MRC."


  • Angeliki BITI - Member of the Board
    "My name is Angeliki Biti and I will be Secretary General at Black Sea Economic Committee for Rhodes Model Regional Co-operation 2011. I am 20 years old and I study International Relations and Diplomacy at the Department of International Relation and European studies of University of Piraeus. I speak English, French, and I would like to learn Chinese. I have participated in several Models as a delegate and also as a chair including ThessISMUN in Thessaloniki, Munist in Istanbul, Stockholm MUN, Cambridge University MUN, International School of Bucharest MUN as well as European Parliament Simulation in my university and of course Rhodes Model Regional Co-operation 2010. I gain a lot of things participating in model, the interactive educational experience that I acquired helped me to develop and enhance useful skills such as researching, writing, public speaking, problem solving, networking, teamwork, conflict resolution, cooperation, consensus building, diplomacy and knowledge of world politics. So, I strongly urge you to have the same experience on this year's Rhodes Model Regional Co-operation don't miss your chance to get in the world of diplomacy.   • Kyriakos CHRYSIDIS - Member of the Board
    "Honorable delegates and dear friends, It’s a great honor for me to welcome you to the RhodesMRC 2011 and the Council of Europe. My name is Kyriakos (Dominikos) Chrysidis and I am 21 years old. I am currently studying Social Administration and Policy as a second year undergraduate student at Democritus University of Thrace. I am a project coordinator and coordinator of volunteers in the groups of Human Rights and Awareness about Social Issues in the Europe Direct Information Center of Komotini. I am also, an active member in the Laboratory of Criminology of my department. As refer as the world of Models on the field of Foreign Affairs, RhodesMRC is going to be my third experience and the first one as Board. The past 2 years, that I have been participating in ThessISMUN, I discovered that this experience could be an unforgettable one! Let me feel the same this time too. I encourage you to take part and take advantage of all the benefits this conference provides you. We, as the board of the committee, will be in your disposal during your preparation.   • Andreas GUIDI - Member of the Board
    "Andreas Guidi was born in Carpi (Italy) on March 7, 1987. After attending school he moved to Milan for his B.A. studies in German and Slavic studies. At that time (2007-2010) he participated as a chairman in various M.E.P. sessions in Denmark and as a delegate in EUNET conferences. In summer 2007 he came in touch with the House of Europe in Rhodes while attending the first "Waves of Democracy – North-South Dialogue". In 2010 he assisted Mrs. Nina Norgaard in organizing the follow up in Novi Sad (SRB) and participated as Deputy Secretary General in Rhodes MRC. He currently studies M.A. Eastern European Studies at the Freie Universit?t Berlin and is an awardee of the Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung."


  • Elena JANNIKI - Member of the Organizing Committee
    "Ms. Elena JANNIKI, is a lawyer, specialised in European Law (Universite Libre de Bruxelles). At present, she works as national legal consultant for the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) Office in Greece. She has professional experience with the European Commission (Directorate General for Development and the EC Delegation to Angola). She also worked as Scientific Collaborator of the "Hellenic Inter-Ministerial Committee on the Implementation and Dissemination of International Humanitarian Law" and as Research Fellow at the "Hellenic Centre for European Studies" (E.K.E.M.). She served as Counselor for EU law & politics and International Relations, in the Cabinet of the Minister of Transport and Communications, and in the Cabinet of the Minister of Development of the Hellenic Republic. She is fluent in Greek, Italian, French, English, Portuguese and Spanish."


  • Emmanouil KALAINTZIS - Member of the Board
    "My name is Kalaintzis Emmanouil and I will be the President in Office of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation in the Rhodes Model Regional Cooperation 2011. I am 20 years old and I study Law at the Aristotle university of Thessaloniki. It is honor to be chosen to chair at this very conference since it differs from other Models in a very unique sense. My vision is to work together with the delegates having fun but at the same time being as productive as we can, so I aspire to enhance cooperation among you delegates in every way that I can. Models are always educative and I would like to ensure that you will leave the island of Rhodes full of knowledge and passion for simulations. It is quite important in this new era that has risen to be familiarized with concepts of international cooperation as a new international rule of order has been established. Rhodes MRC 2010 was an indeed memorable experience for me and I want to make sure that it is going to be so for this year's participants. Along with my Secretary General, Mrs Angeliki Biti we are open to any inquires that you may have before and during the conference."


  • Michael KAVUKLIS - Head of the Organizing Committee and Secretary General
    "I was born in Rhodes. I studied at the Dept. of International and European Studies of the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki, specialized in Political Science and Diplomacy. There, I got familiar with the MUN movement and I have participated to various conferences across the Mediterranean; apart from being a member of the Organizing Committee and an official sponsor for the website for ThessISMUN since 2005, I was assigned as the President of the North Atlantic Council for the first ever NAC simulation in ThessISMUN in 2006. I continued my studies at the Post-graduate program "Political, Economic and International Studies in the Mediterranean" of the University of the Aegean in Rhodes. On March 2010, as a recently elected member of the board of the House of Europe in Rhodes, I proposed the creation of a new type of simulation, dedicated to regional organizations. This proposal gave birth to what is now known as RhodesMRC, of which I have the honor to be Head of the Organizing Committee and Secretary General since 2010."

  • Maria-Katholiki MANTIKOU - Member of the Board
    "I would like to welcome you to the 2nd Rhodes MRC 2011. My name is Maria-Katholiki Mantikou and I am 21 years old. This year it is the first time that I have the honor to participate as a Co-President of the Union of Mediterranean. In 2010 I completed my undergraduate studies in Architecture, University of Plymouth and during the previous year I was doing my placement at the Ministry of Culture and this year I am taking my masters degree. The only thing that is needed is disposal to make new policies, meeting new people and interact with other countries convictions. If you have any problems or questions do not hesitate to contact me. Go for it!"


  • Marilena SOKIANOU - Member of the Organizing Committee
    "I was born in Alexandria Egypt, by Greek parents and lived there until 1961 when I graduated the Greek Senior High School Averofion. Since 1961 I chose to live in Rhodes.

    Graduated from the Superior School of Tourism of Rhodes (ASTER) and worked for 4 years in various hotels. Graduated from the School of Guides and worked as an official guide in Rhodes for 15 years. 1988-1992 graduated from the Panteion University of Athens in Political Science, specializing in International Relations (together with my eldest daughter Evita). For about 10 years I have worked in the family commercial business SOKIANOS CONSULTANTS, which specializes in importing hotel equipment and where I still contribute working at home, through Internet.

    2000-2005 I was the founding President and first elected President of the House of Europe in Rhodes and continue from 2006-2012 as the Secretary. 2006-2013 I was elected and now serve my second mandate as member of the Board of the European Network for Education and Training EUNET, the European Federation for Houses of Europe and similar organizations.

    Member of the Inner Wheel Club of Rhodes (Rotary) since 1974, member of the YMCA of Rhodes (XEN) for 30 years.
    Languages: English, French and Italian fluently. Spanish, German and Arabic quite well. I have studied Russian for three years and just started learning Turkish.
    Married since 1965 to Dinos Sokianos, I have 2 daughters and 5 grand children.
    Hobbies: swimming, reading, cinema, music ."


  • Nemanja SUKALO - Member of the Board
    "I was born and raised in Belgrade where I lived until the age of 10. In 1999 my family moved to Nicosia, Cyprus where I continued my education in the french school. After graduating in 2007 from the American Academy I have spent a year and a half studying medicine which, to say the least, was a pure failure. Currently I am a full time student at the University of Nicosia where I study International Relations and European Studies. In addition to my studies I am involved in the organization of the first ever model UN in Cyprus called CyMUN. Last year I attended Rhodes MRC as the delegate of Germany in the Union for the Mediterranean. To this very day I still claim that the confrence in Rhodes ranks as one of the best conferences I have attended so far (out of the total 15). I look forward to seeing you this year at the conference in the most beautiful Greek island, Rhodes."


  • Zafeiris TSIFTZIS - Member of the Board
    "Hello everybody! I would like to welcome you to the 2nd Rhodes Model Regional Co-operation and to the Council of Europe. My name is Tsiftzis Zafeiris and I am 23 years old. I have concluded with my undergraduate studies at the University of Macedonia, department of International and European Studies and the major of Political Science and Diplomacy. Now, I am I am enrolled in a masters courses on Public International Law at the Law Department of the University of Thrace. This year also I've been honored with the position of the President of Council of Europe in the 2nd Rhodes MRC. This October, I'm celebrating my thirteenth participation in MUN's. I have participated in a number of   International Model United Nations and other simulations such as: the Model United Nations in Istanbul, Slovenian International Model United Nations, Blagoevgrad International Model United Nations, Bucharest International Model United Nations etc. During these Models, I've only got good things to remember; I've been given the chance to stand for my thesis, my views, and my position as well as meet people from around the world and have fun during the social events, people who afterwards became good friends. I think that my previous experiences in Model United Nation gave me the great occasion of a hidden opportunity to choose a different role each year... I encourage you all to take part and take advantage of all the benefits this conference may provide you. So, I recommend the same thing for you. Play a different role. Make new policies. Make our UN better and keep your "ThessIS" in the world. I'm looking forward to meet you all! For anything that may occur, please feel free to contact either me or another member of the board.   • Marta ZOBENIAK - Member of the Board
    "Born in Bydgoszcz (Poland ) in 1985, is a Ph.D. candidate in the field of political science - Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Faculty of Political Science and Journalism, Department of Contemporary Political History. She is a political science / European administration (M.A.) and international relations / diplomacy and consular relations (B.A.). She is a member of the Polish Association of Political Science, Polish Association of International Studies and the Centre of European Research and Education (Programme Council). She is preparing her doctoral thesis under the scientific supervision of Prof. Witold Mazurczak, concerning the great powers politics towards the Black Sea Area. Her scientific interests include contemporary international politics, European integration and regionalism."
