What is RhodesMRC

RhodesMRC follows the practice of Model United Nations. MUN is a global trend on the training of students of political sciences and diplomats, for more than 80 years. Students, young scientists of law, political science or international relations and diplomats or just international relations “fans”, gather together at places around the world to simulate the works of an international organization and its committees, gaining valuable experience on negotiations and resolution making. During these simulations, each participant is assigned a country which he/she represents during the sessions. He/she is acting as an official of the assigned country, so he/she is challenged to ignore any personal thoughts and act as a true diplomat. Check out this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSIieAtUp-k) on MUN for more.

Being academically innovative and challenging, our Model is dedicated to Regional Co-operation. Therefore, for RhodesMRC 2010, the Union for the Mediterranean and the Black Sea Economic Co-operation Organization will be simulated, both at ministerial level. Especially for the latter organization, the occasion is unique as during RhodesMRC 2010, Greece holds the chairmanship-in-office of the actual organization. For both committees the agenda includes specific aspects of the co-operation in Energy and Maritime affaires.
